Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue,
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
This is a traditional British wedding custom dating back to the Victorian era.
We first came across this from Tammy when Miss Purrfectz and I, the 3 of us, were talking about wedding bands. We were going about wedding rings should be simple, classy and timeless, and Tammy told us hers actually has a blue sapphire in her ring. Yes, in her ring, set on the inside of her ring.
It’s a good luck saying, and each item in the collection symbolises something meaningful.
“We were formerly from BLUE, does that count?”, words of Miss Purrfectz.
May’s going to be an exciting month, both Miss Purrfectz and Serenely are getting married, 2 weeks apart! I’m happy to be their handy wedding helper!

Today’s the wedding of a Poly buddy and I am indeed very happy for him! They exchanged wedding vows yesterday, on his birthday and threw a wedding carnival today to celebrate the joyous occasion.
From the photos you’ll know why I call it a wedding carnival…

This was the friend that personally delivered the wedding invite to the few of us. He definitely set a sky high benchmark for many of us, in Singlish – ’spoil market’. This fella had a memory so good, he required little help finding my place, even though the last time he had sent me back must have been at least 7 or 8 years ago. Not just my place, but Sappie’s parent’s place, as well as Amanda’s place. No address required, by pure instinct and memory.
Most of us has lost contact with Amanda, but cuz he went up to her place personally, managed to invite her to the wedding. The few of us had been speculating if we’ll be able to catch her or not prior to today. And by sheer good timing, she turned up right before the bride and groom made their way back from the girl’s place.
My immediate reaction was to shout out to her, but all I got was a cold cold look and turned away to continue looking out for the newlyweds.
It’s been at least 7 to 8 years that I’ve not seen her, and I really wished we could bury any hatchets between us. It’s long-overdue, in fact, they people in question are now married, and she still looks as good as before, if not better.
All the unhappiness be gone, it’s all in celebration of a dear friend’s joyous occasion.

This Christmas has been a more sober one compared to the previous years… I ate more than I drank, and I mean ATE LOADS!
As with our tradition, we do steamboat at the clique’s X’mas gathering. What’s different this year though,we went out for desserts instead of staying in to drink, the convenience of Holland V… Where better than 2am:dessertbar which is just a stone’s throw away! I’m hooked on the hot chocolate that comes with yummilicious sugar and cinnamon coated Churos! *SLURP!* Back at the Ng’s residence, we continued eating again after some clowning around… *still waiting for the silly pictures to be posted by the host* End to end, we must have ate non-stop for almost 8 hours! Hahahah!
I abandoned all plans to hang out on Christmas Eve this year, and stayed home instead. Slept thru X’mas morning and woke up to an empty house… ( Everyone’s out.
It’s not all bad, Serenely and I went window shopping at FEF for her ROM the next day. We got to spend Christmas in the cold! The chiller room at FEF. Heheheh… Attended her family church for Christmas Day service in the evening which was really warm, I haven’t been to a neighbourhood church in a very long time! And it was great that most of her family, the extended, were there! Indeed a family affair…
Boxing Day, instead of unwrapping prezzies, I was out early getting ready for Serenely’s ROM. Heheheh… I was put in charge of flowers, along with the help of her cousin. We left FEF with a bunch of Hydrangeas, Brassicas, vases, sponges and marbles. Thank God for Danny, else I wouldn’t have been able to manage all by myself having to travel a few places to pick up things… Together with Ali and bro, the ROM venue was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Christmas celebration + Solemnization ceremony = MAGICAL!
It was indeed a very different Christmas season this year, instead of partying the nights away, it was spent with good friends and sharing precious moments with one another. Oh, and gorging myself silly…
One of the key takeaways of 2009… It’s a handicap without a driver’s license! This goes into my RESOLUTION 2010, again, and I hope this would be strike off the list for 2011… Heheheh…
Onward! Looking forward to NYE’s!
Peace out…

It’s always fun travelling in a group. Even when this is the 3rd time to KL together. This time, it’s more than just shopping, we were there for Tammy’s wedding! This is GL’s 1st with us, 1st time to KL and 1st time meeting Jas and 28d. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, the shopping, the food, the photos and YES, Tammy’s wedding!

Day 1
Snippet #1: I arrived at Golden Mile Complex, and found 28d waiting already. So I asked if he’s went to the Transtar office, no he said. He saw the Transtar ad/sign and thought the office is there but found it odd why the name is different.
Snippet #2: We thought the KFC uncle looks better in KL, he looks younger than what we see in Singapore. And KFC is now Kitchen Fresh Chicken and not Kentucky Fried Chicken… And we loved the free Wi-Fi there! [I just googled, it's actually part of their re-branding campaign. Read more here.] Prolly cuz we don’t eat KFC often in SG to notice those changes, but seriously, there’s no reason to want to eat oily and flaky fried chicken do we…
Snippet #3: We were all dog tired from the whole day, so Purrfectz, 28d & I were chilling out in the living room of our apartment while GL is already taking a shower. GL asked us to help turn on the water heater for her, so we “did”! To make it sound convincing that we “did”, we checked with her if she is getting hot water and we’ll call maintenance to check on the heater. When we heard that she’s turned off the tap in the shower, we turned on the heater. GL gave us the ‘Bbrrrrr’ look with her hands rubbing her arms as she walked out of the bathroom.
Day 2

Snippet #4: There are actually 3 Starbucks in Berjaya Time Square! We were at the one on the ground floor next to the main entrance. We spent most of the time there logging on to check our FB, and the later part camwhoring.
Snippet #5 <just added>: Tammy thoughtfully arranged for her brother to pick us up from the hotel to bring us to the wedding dinner venue. As we are nearing the country club, I looked out of the vehicle and exclaimed, “Wah… Their jail is here ah… “. Then continued to comment, “Eh.. The jail looks very nice hor… “. Only to realize it’s actually Taman Jalil Golf, another country club. Duh!
Snippet #6: 28d came out of the shower and asked if the water in the other bathroom was too hot. We told him it was ok, but he told us the water was so hot the tap and the shower head became too hot to handle. So we showed him how to adjust the tap to get the right temperature. Usually taps will have the blue and red thingy to show which side to turn, but not this one. The water was so hot that it left 28d’s skin really hot and him soothing his scalp, so he decided to take another shower to cool down. He told us after that that he had to move in and out of the water so he won’t get burned from the HOT water and was squatting down cuz the water’s cooler further away from the shower head.
Snippet #7 <just added>: While GL was taking a shower, I sauntered into her room and thought her bag looks kinda nice… I picked it up, and slipped the slings over my head. And VIOLA a top! It fit me really well, all I needed for it to work was to put on a belt to strap it in place. Ha.. Will update with photo of the “top” when GL sends me…
Day 3
Snippet #8: Apparently 28d wasn’t the only one who suffered the HOT water, Heez was the last to use the shower before 28d. I asked the next morning.
<REVELATION TO THE HOT WATER INCIDENT – Just added>
Apparently it might have been GL who left the tap turned to the extreme hot side. Remember we sabotaged her by not turning on the water heater? So the next person that took a shower, 28d that is, didn’t know the tap is adjustable. You piece the rest of the story yourself… Heh!
Snippet #9: The girls were all looking forward to breakfast on our return trip in the First Class couch. So that we can see the 2 boys reaction when it’s served. Purrfectz ordered vegetarian food for them when they are not the biggest fans of vegs.
Here’s everyone’s photos! Purrfectz, GL, Jas, 28d and Heez. My miserable few are in my FB.
Hmmm… I wonder who’s the next to take the oath… And where will it take us to…

It’s always good catching up with old friends from school days, especially when all of us are busy with our own things. Some are married, some are already proud parents, while others, like myself, are kept busy with work.
These 2 weeks had been pretty much about my friends I met during my Adv. Dip. days.
Eve - Met through Zak. She was in town last Thursday when she flew in from Melbourne enroute Dubai. She’s now based in Dubai with Emirates, and her Singapore-bound flights are hard to come by. That’s why the few of us makes the effort to see her when she’s in town.
We simply spent the evening hanging out in the hotel chatting away, over supper and a couple of beers for myself…
Sean – My Poly senior and Adv. Dip. teammate. Last Friday was his wedding; marrying his flight attendant sweetheart of many years. Sean, his wife and I were schoolmates in NYP, he’s 1 year my senior and Lea’s 1 year my junior. We took the same bus to school in those days. Years later, Sean and I met again when we did our Adv. Dip.

At his wedding I met a few other Adv. Dip. classmates, Dingling, Val & Tim. As well as my Poly seniors, Sean’s bruddas whom I am familiar with too. It’s ashamed that I arrived at the dinner awfully late leaving little time to catch up with all of them.
Gerald, or G we affectionately call him – My Adv. Dip. classmate, also otherwise known as Papa G. Ever so naggy, super duper bad with time, still, he’s a dear friend. I remember he actually text us from Perth to remind us to take good care of our healths, during season when the Sumatran Forest Fires was really bad and causing serious air quality issues in Singapore.
He went to Perth in ‘03 and decided to make Perth his home in ‘05. This is his first homecoming trip with his wifey and adorable daughter. He surprised us when he announced his wedding last year; he left Singapore newly-singled, a year or less later he dropped the bomb on us. And in double quick time, he impregnant his wife, and tadaaa… Now he’s a Proud Daddy to add to his Loving Hubby badge.
Friendship like all other relationships needs time and effort to develop and maintain. I’m thankful for all my friends, for allowing me your friendship. I’m guilty of not spending enough time with all of you, however you’re always here for me.
