Yeah, my little chatterbox, Kaley… She can go on and on and on and sometimes she’ll say the SWEETEST things when you least expect.
This morning I brought her for a swim. She’s making a bit of progress in gaining water confidence, today she dare to lie down on the shallow steps to pretend sleep. She cracked me up when she said ‘GOODNIGHT!’ as she was lying down. I’m sure you will too if you can picture the scenario….
I’m trying to teach her to blow bubbles so that she doesn’t choke on the water when she tries to submerge her head into the water. So I started with asking her to pinch her nose and ‘bu bu bu’, and she tried, SUCCESS! Hopefully she remembers it the next time we go swimming.
She said something really endearing while I was showering her. She said, “I take care of you, 我照顾你ok? I help you to soap ok?”
This little pea 2 months short of 3 years, and she’s my pride and joy indeed. I make this statement as if she was my own… Well, she’s the closest I have at the moment…
One of the little things that always delight me is my niece, well, not a thing, but still little…
They get very excited with birthday songs and blowing candles… This was a little birthday celebration for my sis after dinner last Wednesday… Kaley was awfully sweet…
This little doll, her linguistic skills surpasses our expectation.. Her grammar and vocab goes beyond what we have taught her, maybe all the telly she watches helps… We speak to her mainly in English and Mandarin, her Dad teaches her nuggets of Malay and Hakka, and she’s picked up bits and pieces of Hokkien and Cantonese from us. It’s amazing how she uses the words/phrases she’s learnt. The furthest she’s got to using a slang was ‘Oh shit’ which she pronounces as “Oh ship!”, since then I became more aware of the vocab I use when she’s around.
I shall try to take note of some of our conversations and put it down… I’m sure it’ll bring back fond memories when she grows up and reads this with me…
This is the little girl, haven’t been putting up much photos of her recently. She’s almost 14 months now. She’s putting back the weight she lost during the bout of cough, chubby again, see her thighs… Ha!
When I say family trait, I’m not talkin’ about physical traits, even though I think she looks a bit like me la! We’re all LOVERS of Coca Cola! Her aunt, her uncle, her grams, and her Daddy! Never too young to decide which side to take! Heh!

Work. Yay! Against all odds, things aren’t that bad at all… The ups-and-downs are inevitable, I’m thankful for everyone who’s been a great help to me. Tiring, but we’ll get there.
Family. Kaley’s home from her 1 day hospital stay. I carried her for the first time yesterday and fed her too, from her bottle of course! She’s really active, always kicking and stretching herself, oh, she yawns a lot too… Such a cutie…
Friends. 2 friends whose weddings I’ve attended are going to be mothers soon! One is already 6 months into her term, their wedding was last December. And the other shared with us her good news a week after her wedding in late May.
Myself. Helping out for another friends’ wedding as the Mei-Po (matchmaker). This is going to be fun! Ha… Jokingly I said, I have to get a fake mole to fit the role better. I love this positive vibe in the air these days. Woohoo!!!
A flower child, I think it's the most apt description of me so far. I like doing this in my own time, my own way.
My mantra - WORK HARD, BUT PLAY HARDER.
I suffer from online separation anxiety, I get very uneasy if I have to be disconnected from the rest of the world. The must-have apps on my mobiles - FB, Twitter and WP editor.
