Christianity is not about which church we go to, who our pastor is, what the church preaches, the tithes that we make towards the church.  We all know this discussion can be never ending if it was so, and we tend to be defensive towards our own.

I’m reminded in the discussion with a friend that the fundamental of Christianity is our relationship with God, and He is the centre, not the differences of our church’s belief and teachings.

I chanced upon this while blog surfing and thought this was a most apt article that explains it all.

What If Jesus Meant All That Stuff? The title is a head-turner, very bold hor…

I can relate to the article personally, as I had been put off by some Christians before, and in fact was very anti towards the church and their believers.  But by His Works, I’ve come to understand as I learn more.

It’s not about our differences, but all about our centre.  We just need to align ourselves to Christ, and everything else will fall into their rightful places. :)

If you’ve seen my FB status from last Saturday, “taking a little time out to meditate before I hit the SUBMIT button”. I did, and I heard it loud and clear.

I was on the brim of hitting the submit button on the form, but I thought perhaps I could add a middle name to my baptism name… I wanted a meaningful name, not just something fanciful. And also a little affected by the conversation I had with my mum the previous week, I just didn’t want to rush into it cuz of the good feeling I had in me after Grace Discovery on Friday.

I decided to put a bit more time to pray about it… And this was the message :

38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

So concise.  And so I did.

27 March 2010 is it.  Do join me in this celebration of my rebirth! ;)  Tea’s on me at Old Town Coffee!

I’m not trying to generalize all men, but I think there’s quite a bunch of them out there who are tempted by the forbidden fruits during the 38 weeks of road closure.

I guess it’s very much our asian upbringing that many of us tend to be more conservative in the bedroom department. But I’ve read in books and articles that preggers do get in heat and would like some gentle lovin’.

Seriously, give it some consideration, discuss it with your gynae. Cuz the man might just go out to hunt, and come home with a bad case of diarrhea…

Article taken from Her World February 2008 issue.

“I am fortunate to have known him and to have experienced love of this degree.”

Awww… I melt… Hope you enjoy the article as much as I did!

Here’s the intro to the entire article, rest of article after the fold.

Life’s a strange teacher: Some lessons are so hard they knock the wind out of you, like a typhoon, that tears through your house, sweeping in with such seismic force, creating absolute mayhem before making a grand exit out you front door, leaving you bewildered and blank and alone to pick up the pieces of what precious little is left.

It’s always good catching up with old friends from school days, especially when all of us are busy with our own things. Some are married, some are already proud parents, while others, like myself, are kept busy with work.

These 2 weeks had been pretty much about my friends I met during my Adv. Dip. days.

Eve - Met through Zak. She was in town last Thursday when she flew in from Melbourne enroute Dubai. She’s now based in Dubai with Emirates, and her Singapore-bound flights are hard to come by. That’s why the few of us makes the effort to see her when she’s in town.

We simply spent the evening hanging out in the hotel chatting away, over supper and a couple of beers for myself… :)

Sean – My Poly senior and Adv. Dip. teammate. Last Friday was his wedding; marrying his flight attendant sweetheart of many years. Sean, his wife and I were schoolmates in NYP, he’s 1 year my senior and Lea’s 1 year my junior. We took the same bus to school in those days. Years later, Sean and I met again when we did our Adv. Dip.

At his wedding I met a few other Adv. Dip. classmates, Dingling, Val & Tim. As well as my Poly seniors, Sean’s bruddas whom I am familiar with too. It’s ashamed that I arrived at the dinner awfully late leaving little time to catch up with all of them.

Papa GGerald, or G we affectionately call him – My Adv. Dip. classmate, also otherwise known as Papa G. Ever so naggy, super duper bad with time, still, he’s a dear friend. I remember he actually text us from Perth to remind us to take good care of our healths, during season when the Sumatran Forest Fires was really bad and causing serious air quality issues in Singapore.

He went to Perth in ‘03 and decided to make Perth his home in ‘05. This is his first homecoming trip with his wifey and adorable daughter. He surprised us when he announced his wedding last year; he left Singapore newly-singled, a year or less later he dropped the bomb on us. And in double quick time, he impregnant his wife, and tadaaa… Now he’s a Proud Daddy to add to his Loving Hubby badge.

Friendship like all other relationships needs time and effort to develop and maintain. I’m thankful for all my friends, for allowing me your friendship. I’m guilty of not spending enough time with all of you, however you’re always here for me.

“You ah? Party Animal, at least for the first 2 years I know you.”

Have I been partying lesser? Or these friends got to know me better?

FacadeYes and no. Yes, I don’t go out as often anymore. But when I do, I party hard. And these 2 friends date back to my secondary school days, since our reunion in 2001, we’ve been hanging out in a clique and saw one another grow and evolve.

Someone once told me I’m mysterious, when I thought I’m quite an open book.

Always remind ourselves, don’t be judgmental and overly-critical when meeting someone for the first time. By giving the person a chance, you’re giving yourself a chance too.

First impressions no doubt last, time is what will change that.

In this very hectic pace of living today, we ought to know when to take time-out for a breather.  Catch up with friends, widen our social circle, refresh our senses and gain new experiences.  Recharge.

As a Chinese saying goes, “休息是為了走更長的路”.  Which means a break is to prepare yourself for the longer journey ahead.

I’m thankful that for the colleagues who covered me, allowing me this break.  I totally enjoy it.

Kimchi, JasT you 2 girls ought to take time out some time.  28d, don’t spend money on gadgets, buy yourself a trip to Europe, come back with new experiences.  Yew, freelance also can burn out one hor, especially with the people you deal with.  MelloRello, the world is at your feet, awaiting your domination, you just gotta make a move.

The born-again me speaking.

My dear Auntie Josse is finally getting married this Saturday.  So today, her friend Helen arranged a Hen’s Night Gathering at her place.  In a lovely colonial house tucked away in Seletar Camp.

The entourage, 4 mothers, 2 wives, 2 singles and 1 to-be-bride, me being the youngest.  Having to rush over after work to a place tucked in the far North is no joke.  Except this, the evening was great.

Conversations at the dinner table was kinda off for me as it revolved around parenting and marriage.  My love for kids wasn’t enough to really keep me engaged in the conversations.  Thank God for Ginger, I was pleasantly occupied.  Was glad that dinner was over cuz conversations didn’t seem to be flowing…

The host Helen has thoughtfully prepared craft materials for each of us to make a card for Josse as a wedding momento.  That got us all on our feet and started trying our rusty hands on making the card.  It was fun, felt like school days when we had to do craftwork together.  The end-products aren’t too shabby considering it was impromptu.  We had butterfly cards, heart-shaped notes and mine was themed around wedding bells.

We moved out into the backyard for desserts after duly completing our craft pieces.  This is where conversations got a bit more interesting.  We chatted about how to fend off probing questions from “concerned” relatives at weddings, what sort of foods should children take/avoid to the transition from singlehood to marriage to parenthood.

The conversations actually got me thinking about what I want in a potential lifetime partner, and questions I never thought about before.

Much for me to ponder about…

I simply love these, these quotes… This one, I received in my email today…

“Never regret the things you have done in your life, because at some point in time it was exactly what you wanted.”

Very true isn’t it… Something that I always believe in; at every point you learn/experience something, making your life richer, and you a fuller person.  No point sulking over spilled milk, look forward, as yet another lesson learnt.
