True that!! And this Bali trip is indeed a testimony of His grace and His love, my living God.
The day of departure for Bali was all in a frenzy. I was rushing the entire day to get things done before I leave, in the midst of trying to juggle making lunch for my sis and niece and going to the money-changer’s.
While preparing lunch, I almost chopped my middle finger and ring finger while ‘hacking’ the chicken wings with a chopper. Thank God for holding back my strength on that wield, otherwise I would be spending my holidays in the hospital… There were just 2 shallow cuts.
After sending my sis and niece off in a cab home from the mall, I went to draw cash to get change to Ruppiahs for my trip. Having to juggle my luggage, my hand-carry and laptop, I left the laptop on top of the ATM. And tra-la-la, I took the money and went to get them changed. Just before I head to catch a train to the airport, I realized, why are my hands so free? MY LAPTOP!!! I traced my route, went back to the ATM machine, not there, went to the money changer, not there. Reported to the mall’s information counter just in case.
I was circling the ATM area, bought a pack of fags and tried to calm down and think. I decided to call the bank for help, since it was left at their ATM outside the branch. The officer on the line at first said they couldn’t help, but I suggested that the branch could their ATM transaction records and CCTV to trace. I left it as that, we know the chances might be slim.
I prayed in the cab throughout the entire journey to the airport, and called the boss to inform him of the bad news. And onward to Bali…
We only arrived in our hotel in Kuta around 1ish, washed up and went out to party till 5ish and I only slept at 6am. I was woken up by my phone, 9.39am. ”Hello, this is Miss W. from the bank, we have located the customer who had taken your laptop. We matched the transaction records and found it on our CCTV.” It was an AWESOME wake-up call! They found it first thing in the morning! Credits to the staff at the branch!! I’m so thankful thankful thankful!!
It rained every afternoon we were there, the rain kept us in most afternoons. But we don’t complain, cuz we could just chill our very nice villa.

We decided to hire a driver to bring us to Ubud for the famous Babi Guling on the 3rd day. We headed out by noon and spent the whole afternoon in Ubud – lunch at Ibu Oka, coffee at Terazo, my companions visited the Monkey Temple, while I just walked around Ubud. Same thing, it rained again, was light rain so we managed to still get around. By evening, the driver took us to Jimbaran Bay for dinner. Yumz! On our way down, we realized it had rained heavier than it did in Ubud. I gave thanks in the backseat of the car.

He has help us managed our budget, kept us safe, made us rest when we needed to…
And it’s all well in his plans to keep the sun away the earlier days so that we don’t get burnt already on our first day. We finally caught a good tan on the last day before heading back home. I totally enjoyed the ride to the beach with Wendy, and the walk on the beach just indulging in the sounds of the crashing waves and sea breeze…
Thank you for watching over us, and loving us! Thank you for the luxury that I could afford this getaway with great company I had!
P/S: I collected my laptop from the police’s lost and found dept on Wednesday afternoon after a long journey there, it was all worth it… Lost and found, just like me.
