:: Dream, dream, dream, dream…. ::

Category : Musings

I have a love-hate relationship when it comes to dreams.  Love cuz dreams usually set me in places I’ve never been before, or non-existence in reality.  Hate cuz some dreams can be unpleasant, and especially the fact that I get disturbed sleep.

My most recent dream was on Monday night.  Doesn’t help that I had a bit too much to drink that evening.  (When I say too much to drink now, it was only a jug when I just intended to have a pint.)

So back to my dream, this was how I remembered it.

Was in some sort of a carnival scenario with lots of people, think it was some school. Some friends were there, though can’t remember whom. Left to go pick up some thing from the building over looking where the carnival/parade was happening. And the place was a really nice apartment on a high floor. Took a walk around and found this balcony that overlooks the fanfare below, and somehow ended up hanging out with this younger guy for a long while walking and talking and holding hands… (must be the joke that I made over drinks last night about me being a cradle snatcher).

Left the guy to go back down to the rejoin the fanfare. Then spent the rest of the dream looking for the guy…

I’m always curious about what my dreams say, and occasionally I’ll Google to find dream interpreter sites to decipher my dream.  This time round, a friend who’s into interpreting dreams helped me read. This was what she said.

:: Happy Birthday Mr Ben! ::

Hmm… I guess no other songs befits him like this one.

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own
I’ll never be alone
And you my friend will see
You’ve got a friend in me

He’s a one-of-a-kind teacher; one that  the management may not necessarily think too highly of, yet the one who students love.

He’s a big brother and at the same time, a teenager trapped in a grown-up (too grown-up if you were to ask me) body.  We have fun together, we seek his advice on matters.

Here’s to you Mr Ben! Done just the way you like it, by our favourite rock chick, favourite band.

Whoa!!  All these Nobody parody videos are floating around these days, or should I say, been for some time already!  They never fail to put a smile on my face, too FUNNY!!

I started noticing them through Starhub Mobile Ravers.  I’m sure most of us have seen those, a viral campaign by DDB/Tribal…

My favourite must have been this – by some Cebu inmates.  They even got the rest of the camp as backup dancers!  Very well choreographed!

The Pinoys have always been known to be good singers, this shows their other talent! Hahaha…

And today, I’m amused by Thai boys. Watch out for the Specky!

How cool if a Nobody flashmob (n. A group of people who converge on a spot at a specific time, perform some action, and disperse quickly) happens right here in Raffles Place!  Its definitely going to be a conversation piece!  Hehehe…

Yay!! Finally the pest has been asked to leave. “Asked to leave’ is definitely an understatement, more like ORDERED to leave and clear out his belongings from his illegitimate entertainment area.

His entertainment area is rightfully the public study corner at the void deck of my block, directly below my flat.  The study corner, as the name implies, is a place for residents to study. But more often than so, a hang out place.  I have to say, many have abused the use of the space.

Groups of youngsters would gather when night falls to chit chat all through to the early morning.  Talking loudly, revving their parked bikes, playing music from their latest mobile phone, making way too much noise at those hours.  We had to call on the patrol to check in on them a couple of times.  This was all tolerable, cuz eventually they knew they had to disband after a certain hour.

(This is going to be a rather long post, continue reading if you want to… the crux of the post is right at the end though… ) Contunue Reading

Having missed last year’s festivities, I won’t want to miss it this time round.

It’s indeed a nice experience on a Friday night to visit the museum, and it’s open all the way to 2am!

Here’s the video I took of the main performance, The Loop of Fortune.  Enjoy!

Other than the main performance there were other events as part of this festival.  A Night Bazaar, installation art, outdoor movie screening (using old skool looking projection machine) and seminars as well if I’m not wrong.

This other exhibition that captured my attention was showcasing furnitures and interiors by an acclaimed designer.  Here are some of his signature pieces.

Verner Panton Signature Chairs

Nope, not Philippe Starck, these are works of Verner Panton, one of Denmark’s most outstanding furniture and interiors designer.

Well, the exhibition ends today, 12 July, unfortunately.  To see this otherwise, you might have to go to the Vitra Design Museum Germany.  Oh, here’s a great tip on how to use the Panton Chair in a more fun way, and it’s done very tastefully:)

Who’s up for Science Centre?  I’m looking for playmates to go with!
